A critical evaluation of a public policy

Identify a public policy, private policy or some other institutional policy and conduct a critical evaluation. You will need to understand the history of the policy, the underlying rational for the policy, the impact of the policy on various groups, the effectiveness of the policy, and you must make policy recommendations explaining how the policy can be improved or why the policy should be eliminated. You will need to examine the relationship between social structure (specifically institutions) and cultural outcomes. You will need to also explain who supports this policy and why, along with why others oppose the policy.
