You will then use the mission or vision as the foundation for a recommendation for policy change to more effectively address the social problem. Part 2: One-page letter to elected policy maker Part 2 For Part 2, you will write a letter to any one of your national representatives. (Senator Charles Schumer). Use standard business letter formatting and include the following elements: Introduction: Introduce yourself and state why you are writing the letter. Problem Description: Briefly describe social problem that you are concerned about. Mission Statement: Share your values-based mission statement. Call to Action: Propose at least one change to improve the institutional approach to managing this social problem. Step 3: Address the prompts below in a single paragraph of five or six sentences. · Restate your mission statement from Part 1. Then, briefly explain how the mission statement is related to improving a specific social problem. · Briefly summarize the policy change you suggested in the letter to your representative will help resolve the social problem. · Using a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being 100% likely, and 1 being not at all likely, predict how likely you think it is that, if enacted, the policy change would end the social problem in your lifetime.
