Advise Anita

On 20th February, Anita hires an industrial carpet cleaner from Machine Market. She signs and pays £500 for a 1 month hire contract with delivery to her on 1st March. Anita intends to use the industrial cleaner in her cleaning business to carry out various contracts. On 27th February, the manager of Machine Market telephones her to say that they no longer have an industrial carpet cleaner available, and they will not be delivering one to her. Anita explains that she will be unable to carry out the following contracts she has signed with her customers:
(a) Clean the carpets in an office block for £700 on 2nd and 3rd March.
(b) Anita has a contract with Arton Forensics for £4,900 to carry out an urgent deep clean at 7 times her usual rate.
(c) Anita has found telephoning her customers very upsetting and wants to claim for her upset and disappointment. Advise Anita whether she can force Machine Market to deliver an industrial cleaner so that she can carry out her contracts and, if not, the remedies she can pursue.
