Albert Einstein advised us to “Learn from yesterday, live for today.”

Albert Einstein advised us to “Learn from yesterday, live for today.” This Week’s Discussion question asks you to follow Einstein’s advice. You can learn from yesterday by using this week’s Learning Resources to engage in a scholarly inquiry into the thoughts of Plato and Aristotle. Then, you can live for today by applying your newly acquired knowledge in your response to the Discussion question.

In this Discussion, consider the points that Plato and Aristotle make which you find particularly interesting. Then, identify some current issues and policy concerns of relevance to you. Determine if there is anything from Plato and Aristotle that relates to the issues you identified.

Note: You will have the option to record your Discussion post if you choose to. If you choose to create and upload an audio/video recording, please be mindful of the time you will need to review the Kaltura media player instructions below and create your video.

To prepare:
Refer to the Intellectual Traditions Timeline from the Learning Resources this week to aid you in your understanding of the various thinkers and their contributions.
Review the Learning Resources for this Week about and by Plato and Aristotle.
Think about some current governing and policy issues of interest to you.
Determine what, if anything, that Plato and Aristotle had to say has relevance to today’s events.
If you choose to use Kaltura media player to record your post for this Discussion, please access the Kaltura Media Uploader link in the left-hand navigation of the Blackboard classroom, and follow directions to create your video/audio for this Discussion.
