This module has been a deeply enriching and thought-provoking exploration of cultural identity, marginal spaces, and their artistic expressions. The juxtaposition of performance art and film with the static power of painting offered a multifaceted lens through which to examine these complex themes. My personal reflections on borders, both physical and metaphorical, resonated strongly with the artistic narratives we encountered.

The artwork that challenged my thinking the most was Gómez-Peña's performance art. His radical and confrontational approach to exploring hybridity, xenophobia, and the "other" pushed the boundaries of my understanding of identity. The way he embodied and subverted stereotypes, forcing uncomfortable introspection, felt far more visceral and unsettling than any other medium.
