Can you cover for me?

• Your friend who is serving in the same clinical setting with you stops you in the hallway to ask you what he should do. His wife has called, crying & saying she feels really sick and would like him to come home right away. He has already missed several days because his uncle died, and he also had a bout of the flu.
• The supervisor spoke with your friend this morning about his absences.
• Your friend asks, “Can you cover for me? I should be back in less than 15 minutes. If anyone asks, tell them I’m on break.”
