Cerebral palsy

Case Study: Anita Hugg is a 4th grader with cerebral palsy. She ambulates with a walker. Her movements are a little spastic (shaky). She was doing fine in physical education up until 4th grade. As the activities have become more competitive, she is struggling to be successful. Although the physical educator, Mrs. Patel, makes modifications to the rules of games and activities, since Anita walks with a walker, activities involving her hands or requiring speed are difficult to manage. Mrs. Patel decides to refer Anita for adapted physical education services. Mr. Jinto, the adapted physical educator, gets the referral and meets with Mrs. Patel to describe the evaluation process.
Discussion Question: Describe the details he would share with her. Include the assessment process steps, the test he should select as well as why he should select that test, and some key steps he will follow when administering that test.
