In Communication in China (2008), Yuezhi Zhao argues that deploying Western public relations campaigns techniques has been commonly used by the Chinese government. Please use the insights by the author to examine how the Chinese government promotes desirable national images. To help you develop a focused project, I ask you to examine one or two media campaign cases such as the Beijing Olympics(2008), the Sichuan earthquake (2008), the milk scandal (2008) ,and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People?s Republic of China (2009).
