Clinical Practice Problem

Identify a clinical practice problem noted at the practice site that needs change.
a. Examples: Increased incidence of pressure ulcers on a unit, increased occurrence of anticoagulation medication
errors, high fall rate, high hospital acquired infection (HAI) rate, failure to screen and treat for tobacco use etc.

2. Discuss the background/significance of the clinical practice problem.
3. Search clinical practice guidelines for evidence-based practice solutions.
4. Identify and discuss at least two best practices that the DNP could apply in practice to improve patient/population outcomes.
5. Explain why/how the chosen practices would improve clinical practice and patient/population outcomes.
6. The scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 2 to 3 pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages.
7. Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.
8. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.
