Students will video or audio record a five-minute coaching session with a classmate who acts as a ‘client’ where the client brings a real and current issue with them that they would like help with. The student being assessed is the coach. This session should then written up by the student coach as a commentary of their own reflections on the ‘success’ of the conversation. This written summary should be between 500 and 750 words in length. The purpose of this assessment is to practice coaching skills and apply theory learned during the course. The reflective commentary should identify where the student coach has sought to apply certain skills and aspects of theory and reflect on how well it went.
