You have been charged by your local government to discuss in a Public Forum as to why the budget for the community must include funds towards a community-based art project. This would mean that the normal budget will be affected and cutbacks will occur for the annual community "Fish Fry Day".
Watch the video entitled "The Evolution of Art (and how it Shaped the Modern World)" on YouTube; the link is below and provides a critical analysis and reasons to support the funding of the art project.
STEPS:
1) Watch the video and make notes of key information.
Presentation Content
2) After watching the video you are required to create a PPt/Google Slides presentation which highlights the importance of art in our world and discusses three PERTINENT reasons to support the need towards funding for a community-based art project over the Fish Fry Day event.
Your three reasons should be fueled by:
1) Identifying the purpose of the community art-based project selected.
2) The benefits it will have specifically on your community as opposed to the annual Fish Fry Day event (think impact/reach/audience, how it could uplift or change pre-existing issues in your community, etc.).
3) Highlight the track record that art has had in other historic communities. In doing this, you should also make your case by showing the public how communities in our past have benefited from art and how the art they developed has had a lasting impact on us today. Provide examples to CLEARLY outline this connection to the ideas supported in the video as well as to at least one of the following ancient communities in your textbook:
- Prehistoric Art Communities
- The Ancient Near East Art Communities
-The Aegean Art Communities
- Egyptian Art Communities
You may use other relevant sources to support your answer once they are properly referenced using APA 7.
Presentation Design
3) Create a 20-minute PowerPoint of no more than 6 slides to present to the members of the public (your classmates and professor). You should include illustrations from the selected art eras and from Bahamian Artist to help support your presentation.
