Comparative Analysis Essay
Comparative Analysis Essay
Order Description
Write a 4-5 page essay in which you examine one text in relation to another text.
paper must have a clear claim. Make sure that you do not simply list similarities and differences between the two texts. Instead, develop a thesis about what those
relationships signify, and how they might help a reader to understand or discover something significant about your chosen texts. Use evidence from the works (2 primary
texts) and your research (2 secondary texts) to support your thesis.
Use standard MLA formatting/guidelines. You must include a Works Cited page at the end, with sources listed and formatted correctly. *Provide in-text citations for all
outside sources (primary and secondary sources) used within the paper.
Remember, your language, style and tone should be academic/objective. No first person "I' and no second person "you."
Questions you may want to consider:
Which texts will you write about? What interests you about the texts that you are using?
What do you notice when you put the two texts in conversation with each other?
What conclusions/readings can you draw from putting these texts in conversation with each other?
What are some similarities? What are some differences? What might these similarities and differences mean?
Are there parts of the texts that you are struggling with? How do you plan to approach these difficulties?
