Concepts, principles, and responses related to pathophysiologic processes that result in disease

Review the following Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs), and choose one outcome:

  1. Apply concepts, principles, and responses related to pathophysiologic processes that result in disease.
  2. Correlate the risk factors, causes, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, ethics, and diagnostic tests on disease progression, treatment, health promotion, and disease prevention across the lifespan and healthcare continuum.
  3. Appraise the role and responsibilities of the nurse and members of an interdisciplinary team across multiple healthcare settings in recognition, assessment, and interventions for management of acute and chronic diseases.
  4. Appraise best practices and clinical judgement to develop evidence-based nursing plan of care for management of acute and chronic diseases across the lifespan and healthcare continuum.
    In your discussion response:
    • Reflect on how you feel you have achieved the selected outcome based on the work completed in this course.
    • Discuss how you will apply what you learned in this course to your current or future nursing practice. Supportive evidence is not required.
Based on the given Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs), I have chosen Outcome 4: Appraise best practices and clinical judgement to develop an evidence-based nursing plan of care for the management of acute and chronic diseases across the lifespan and healthcare continuum. Throughout this course, I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing. I have learned how to critically evaluate research studies, analyze the validity and reliability of evidence, and apply it to clinical decision-making. By doing so, I have been able to develop an evidence-based nursing plan of care for the management of acute and chronic diseases. In terms of achieving this outcome, I believe I have been successful. Through various case studies and assignments, I have applied the knowledge gained from this course to develop comprehensive nursing care plans that are based on the best available evidence. I have learned how to identify relevant research articles, assess their quality, and integrate the findings into my nursing practice. This has allowed me to provide high-quality care to my patients and improve patient outcomes. In my current and future nursing practice, I will continue to apply what I have learned in this course. I will use evidence-based practice to guide my decision-making and ensure that my nursing interventions are based on the best available evidence. This will enable me to provide safe and effective care to my patients. Furthermore, I will also advocate for the implementation of evidence-based practice within my healthcare setting. I will educate my colleagues about the importance of using research evidence in their practice and encourage them to critically appraise the literature. By doing so, we can collectively improve patient care and contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge. Overall, this course has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to appraise best practices and utilize clinical judgment in developing evidence-based nursing plans of care. I believe that by applying what I have learned, I can make a positive impact on patient outcomes and contribute to the advancement of nursing practice.
