Contemporary Global Environments
Recruitment and selection are important elements of international HRM. Some firms choose to recruit experienced managers for foreign assignments, whereas others hire younger, and more likely inexperienced, managers. Various avenues may be used for either approach to recruiting. The selection of managers for foreign assignments usually involves consideration of both business and international skills. Managers and firms must therefore address a variety of expatriation and repatriation issues.
