Contemporary Issues in Business Order Description This part of your essay introduces how changeable the work environment is, and will continue to become. Start broadly - explain the changes taking place in the workplace (most specifically, technological changes involving data analytics, big data, social networking, artificial Intelligence, Robotics). These themes have been covered in the lectures, so revisit lecture slides for the links to relevant discussion points. Also see the assessment 2 reading folder on blackboard. Explain in more detail some of the issues. The work place, jobs, technology, societal impacts etc. are all changing, but how well do organisations actually embrace (or drive) change? Start to pick out specific examples and focus in on a few of these. Such as, which jobs / professions / industries are most at risk? What implications does this have for society (such as the millennial generation or the green, orange and blue worlds)? Relate the particular issues you choose to discuss, to the organisational change literature and theory. Analyse why change is difficult to implement – why is this the case? Give examples of approaches which have had high failure rates and discuss why this occurred. Finally, focus on the projected impact all this change will have on the future of work and society.
