- Develop or find a scenario to present and then analyze by applying the class principles. (You could use a tv show, a movie, or a case study or create your own scenario, story, or skit.)The objective will be to show what applied cultural intelligence would look like.
- Develop a plan for a start-up or new business in which you include you and your group-mates as representatives of potential cultural, racial, and gender dynamics.
All presentations require an analysis of the key class concepts including.
a. Culture as applied to motivation, leadership, teamwork, and so on. This requires the application of the cultural dimensions. As you may know, there are many models of cultural dimensions. Application of the ones covered in this class is necessary for a top-level grade. This part of the analysis should look similar to what we did with the Adenaya video.
b. Racialization and bias. Your analysis should address issues such as white privilege, white fragility, implicit bias, and aversive racism
c. Gender dynamics. Please use the concepts addressed, including notions of gender roles and stereotypes, sexism, sexual harassment, and so on
d. Cultural intelligence: Apply the model of cultural intelligence in a broad sense, covering all of the issues analyzed. Show what a culturally intelligent approach would look like
e. DEI policy: Please outline a proposal for a good DEI policy that would circumvent the problematic interactions.
