Task
You are required to produce a 2,000-word research proposal linked to your intended dissertation in your final year study, which is relevant to your course of study.
Guidance:
• Develop a professional layout for your research proposal incl. title page, contents page, reference list and appendix (if necessary). You can also use figures and tables to support your ideas; if so, make sure you include a list of figures and tables.
• Organise your proposal into numbered main sections: introduction, literature review, research design and research ethics.
• Each section should include the following:
- Introduction (approximately 500 words)
• Outline the aim of the study and present a set of related and appropriate research objectives that will work towards ensuring you fulfil the research study.
• Identify the contribution to knowledge – how will your work add to the existing body of knowledge from an academic perspective and what is the value of proposed research to the commercial world /industry?
• Explain the justification for the research study – why carry out this research?
• Explain the rationale for the research study – what are your personal and / or professional reasons for conducting the research? - Literature Review (approximately 800 words)
• Begin with a review of the main theories (theoretical framework) and / or concepts (conceptual framework) central to your research study.
• Review the literature, relating to your proposed research – here you should identify authors who have conducted research studies similar to yours.
• Start to understand main authors and points of agreement/divergence found in the literature. - Research Design/ Methodology (approximately 700 words)
• Outline your proposed research approach (qualitative or quantitative).
• Discuss the research methods you intend to use.
• Briefly explain data collection incl. sampling and data analysis.
Complete the Business School’s Research Ethics Form.
Do not use the first person in the proposal but write it in the third person.
Reference list - Include a separate reference list formatted according to Harvard style of referencing. You must complete the Academic Integrity Resource (AIR) exercise by Friday, 18th November 2022. You need to work through Parts 1-3 of the folder before taking the quiz.
