CYBER BULLYING: amongst children is on the rise. This type of bullying is hard to deal with for a number of reasons. It typically happens out of school time, may be perpetrated anonymously, large numbers of children may be involved and it is very difficult to detect New laws have been introduced by the Australian government to deal with cyber-bullying. In particular the Australian government has set up the Office of the Children's e-Safety Commissioner together with a regime for the reporting of harmful content. But do these measures go far enough? Does Australia need tougher laws to deal with cyber-bullying by children ( as in the US), should schools take tougher measures or is it really down to parents to stop bullying?
