1) Write a career goal that includes all five parts of the DAPPS rule, explained in Chapter 3. (If you haven't decided on a career yet, write a DAPPS goal about how you will make that decision.)
2) Once you have your long term career goal, identify the steps needed to get there. Break this long-term goal down into 5 next steps, also known as short-term goals, to create a career planning timeline. Think of this as a “to do” list.
• These steps can include, but are not limited to, the following:
o research more career options
o meet with your Career Coach
o create a Career Development Portfolio (CDP)
o set up a LinkedIn Profile (or boosting an existing one)
o get familiar with HireIvy
o create a resume
o develop an elevator pitch
o take career assessments like Ivy Career StrongLinks to an external site.
