Data, Information, Knowledge and Wisdom in Clinical Practice

Paper details: NOW that you have an understanding Of data, information, knowledge and wisdom let's apply these concepts to the clinical practice arena. In your paper discuss the following: First identify a clinical question or problem you are trying to solve in the clinical arena. For example, a patient has bone metastases and is at risk for hypercalcemia. What do I need to know to assessment and manage this patient? Or the patient is on a very complex medication regimen and you are sorting out side-effects and drug interactions. Or the patient is in intractable pain and you are working on pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures to provide relief. Identify a clinical question that would require more than one ‘type' of information. By that I mean, your case might require ?uid information (I&O), medications, vital signs, labs etc. What is knowledge? What sources of knowledge are available that you could access or consult? Identify at least one evidence-based source of knowledge for your particular case. Why did you select the knowledge source? What is the level of evidence? What information do you need for your case and why is it information? Provide at least 3 examples of information. What is it data and how is it represented in your case? Provide at least one example of data. Why is it data? What is wisdom? Identify/discuss the appropriate use of wisdom as it relates to your case.
