Discussion #6 (POSU)
Paper details:
As you read in “Untrue Confessions”(http://www.truthinjustice.org/untrueconfession.htm) the police can use various techniques to maximize their chances of obtaining a confession. For example, they are allowed to lie. (“Your buddy is flipping on you right now.” “We have your fingerprints at the crime scene.” Etc.) They also use psychological techniques as described in the article, “I Did It.” Do you think the police have too much latitude in the interrogation methods they are permitted to employ in questioning suspects? Why or why not? Give details to support your position.
