Discussion and Reflection: Leading Curriculum
Order Description
There is substantial commentary in research and literature on
instructional leadership in education. This assessment includes two
sections.
Section 1: Discussion (approx. 1200-1400 words)
Using scholarly literature discuss your understanding of
instructional leadership and its importance for curriculum
development. In your discussion consider the following:
- What is instructional leadership and why is it important for
educational leaders?
- What are some of the challenges of instructional leadership
and how can they be overcome?
- What practices can educational leaders consider and
implement in order to lead curriculum in their educational
setting?
Section 2: Personal Reflection (approx. 600-800 words)
In consideration of your discussion, how equipped are you as a
leader or potential leader to lead curriculum in your chosen
context? Briefly introduce your chosen context and then consider
areas such as your past experiences, observations of others, and
future goals and strategies to reflect on your abilities to effectively
lead curriculum in your chosen setting. It may be beneficial in this
section to discuss your definition of leadership (i.e. are you
discussing middle leadership, executive leadership?)
