Several months ago R.C., a young 25 year-old man fell while rock climbing; his left leg was wedged tightly into a crevice. The resulting injury was severe and required amputation below the knee. R.C. reported to his physician that he continues to suffer from phantom limb pain. Prior to his accident R.C. was finishing his apprenticeship to become an electrician and just moved into a new townhome he purchased with his high-school girlfriend.
