Early 17th Century Opium Trade and Addiction in China

  Research Topic – I found the opium crisis described in chapter 18 fascinating. I would like to pursue what that crisis looked like to China. How the people, culture, families and economy were impacted by opium addition. Essentially, I will explore the precursors to the first Opium War. This research assignment will explore the role of the East India Company, the opium addiction, and the money driving the trade.
