In this module we are concerned with the echocardiographic evaluation of the abnormalities that can be detected in the toddler and child. You will want to review the developmental anatomy and/or physiological consequences of the particular abnormality. Emphasis should be on the echocardiographic detection and evaluation of the condition.
Include in your presentation a brief discussion of how the exam is performed in this age group, including any differences from the examination of an adult, and any pitfalls that should be avoided or considered.
