Order Description Process of completing the assignment 1: Choose a sociolinguistic concept or related set of concepts that interest you. Using the textbook and other sources, inquire into the origins and history of thinking about this concept. Then scan recent (from about 2000 onwards) scholarly journals to see what work is being done with this concept now, and the types and range of research questions it informs. Choose a number of recent articles (at least three) that interest you and read these in detail.
