Vancouver Canada is located in the province of British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the most beautiful cities due to its beautiful views which can be attributed to their desire to become an environmentally sustainable city. Vancouver is on a path to becoming a zero-waste community by 2040 “Zero Waste 2040 is our long-term strategic plan to become a zero-waste community”. (Vancouver, n.d) Vancouver has also been ranked among the most sustainable cities in the world. The case study Vancouver becoming world’s greenest city shows how Vancouver has set goals to reduce air pollution, waste and overall improve the city’s natural environment. The case study also illustrated the challenges that Vancouver has faced and what lessons they have learned. Vancouver has also developed a city of Vancouver greenest city action plan. This action plan touches on all topics from green economy, green transportation, green infrastructure to clean water and air. Therefore, the above are some reasons as to why our group chose the city of Vancouver to do their term group project on.
