Graphic Aid
Prepare graphic aids, illustrating the following financial information, to help the clients of your management company understand the importance of retirement planning. Place all three graphs on one document which you will need to upload to Canvas (do NOT use a shared Google doc). You need not cite as I am supplying you the data used to create the graph.
Most people who invest without professional help place their retirement assets in bank certificates of deposit (41%), stocks (21%), money market funds (10%), bonds (16%), annuities (9%), and other (3%).
Depending on the age and how long the client has until retirement, you recommend the following investments : 20 years or more to retirement—stocks 70%, cash 30%; 10 years to retirement—stocks 60%, bonds 20%, cash 20%; 1-2 years to retirement or newly retired—stocks 50%, bonds 30%, cash 20%; elderly retired—stocks 40%, bonds 40%, cash 20%.
If the client had invested $10,000 in each of several areas 20 years ago, the investments would be worth the following today: stocks, $126,725; bonds $100,131; real estate, $98,343; gold, $32,000; and cash, $72,925.
Be prepared to discuss why you chose each type of graphic aid.
