Habitat for Humanity

Pick an organization or mission that you want to advocate for. Pick something (topic/organization) that you feel strongly about. For example, the ACLU, Habitat for Humanity, etc. It can be anything. Once you do this, imagine that you work for this organization or institution, and you've been assigned the job of writing a piece for social media, a blog, their website, etc., and the whole purpose of this piece is to represent the organization's mission, persuade the reader of something about the organization, and perhaps ask for something from the audience on behalf of the organization, simple support or perhaps donations. How will you represent this organization? How will you present this organization? What cause are you advocating for on behalf of the organization? What are you asking the audience for, or what is your call to action? Answering these questions will help you develop material for the blog or paper. Also, consider the overall style and language you need to use to be most effective. Remember, keep your audience or reader in mind when writing. What do you need to present or how do you go about presenting in order to reach your audience or reader and have them come over to your side of thinking? What do you need to do or say or write in order to persuade them to take action for your cause? Also, think about your overall structure for this blog or paper. You still need a beginning, middle, and end to clearly present your developed ideas.
