“Discuss the use of materials in your discipline by using examples of other practitioners. Use relevant readings to explore how designers have used material and could think about material properties meanings and interpretations and how this relates to ideas about materiality and immateriality.”

Read at least five texts and write about them trying to show that you understand the ideas developed by the authors and how they connect to your understanding of your chosen title. At least three of the texts should be ‘peer reviewed’ journal articles, books chapters, etc. Two of these texts may be websites, interviews, documentaries, podcasts, or other non-academic sources but these need to be analysed in the same way as academic sources. You need to include at least three images relevant to your chosen topic (this can include images of artworks, objects and/or film stills) as visual examples towards your writing. Each text used needs to appear on your bibliography and the image sources should be fully referenced at the end of the assignment.
