First Essay(1000 words): Compare Hugh Trevor-Roper’s comments about the possibility of African history (an place them within the wider context of the chapter they come from) with John Akomfrah’s film The Last Angel of History. In doing so, pay particular attention to how Trevor-Roper’s views inform the condescending views and racist attitude of the ITN reporter whose newsreel report isused in the Chinese-financed, Kenya-produced documentary about Edward Nkoloso (available via the link above). Equally, consider how Akomfrah’s film places Nkoloso’s political project into a much different context.
