Is the Bible the foundation of human faith

We have read the two creation myths in Genesis 1 and 2. We have seen that the Hebrew Bible is a result of centuries of writing, editing, and redacting. The New Testament is composed well after Jesus’ death and each gospel has a bias toward its audience and theology which leads them to present mutually exclusive stories (think Jesus’ last line on the cross). Should the Christian Bible be the foundation of Christian faith given these realities? If so, how should it be? If not, why should it not play that role?
