Journal Entry: Reflecting on My Teaching Legacy As I approach the end of my career in teaching and prepare for retirement, I cannot help but feel a sense of gratitude and fulfillment. The thought of my friends and former students coming together to celebrate my retirement and speak about my life’s work fills me with a mix of emotions – anticipation, nostalgia, and pride. Drawing upon what I have learned throughout this course, as well as my own dedication to teaching and learning, I can predict what my students might say at this momentous event. Here, I summarize the sentiments I believe will define my legacy: Passionate and Inspiring: I anticipate that my former students will remember me as a passionate and inspiring educator. Throughout my teaching career, I endeavored to instill a love for learning within each student, fostering curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. I aimed not just to teach subject matter but to ignite a lifelong passion for education by making the classroom an engaging, dynamic, and inclusive environment. Student-Centered Approach: My legacy will reflect my unwavering commitment to the success of every student.
