Objective: The goal of this project is to provide you with hands-on experience in planning, launching, and managing an e-commerce business. You will apply the concepts and theories learned throughout the course to create a comprehensive business plan, design a (mock) user-friendly website, and develop marketing and operational strategies.
Part 1: Business Planning and Market Research
1.1: Select a niche market and product or service to sell.
1.2: Conduct market research to identify target customers, competitors, and market opportunities.
1.3: Develop a value proposition and unique selling points for the business.
1.4: Create a detailed business plan, including financial projections and a SWOT analysis.
Part 2: Website Design and Development
2.1: Plan the website's structure and layout, focusing on usability and user experience.
2.2: Design or choose a responsive template for the website.
2.3: Explain how the website will be SEO-friendly, mobile-responsive, and fast-loading.
2.4: Explain how you will integrate a secure and reliable payment gateway. (This may be done as an actual website if you choose or in PowerPoint or some other visual)
Part 3: Marketing and Customer Acquisition
3.1: Create a marketing plan, including target audience, marketing channels, and budget.
3.2: Develop content and promotional materials for the website and social media platforms.
3.3: Execute marketing campaigns, including email marketing, search engine marketing, and social media advertising. (This material can be present this material in Word, PowerPoint or the equivalent. You are not required to create a “live” Marketing campaign.)
3.4: Implement customer acquisition strategies, such as referral programs, influencer marketing, and partnerships.
