LESSON PLAN

Gather and analyze student data to determine what needs to be included in the lesson plan.
Use the template provided below to create your two required lesson plans for your observation visit. You must complete all sections of the template, except the reflection, and place a hard copy in the Practicum Folder for your visiting professor. Remember:
Goals must be SMART.
You must have an introduction and closure.
You must include at least one instructional strategy related to Marzano's Design Area and DQ (professors will be looking for strategies during the visit)
Assessment must be detailed. You must provide a copy of the rubric, quiz, or performance based assessment.
Complete the reflection section of the lesson plan after your observation. Use post-lesson data to determine if goals were met.
Save the lesson plan using required naming conventions.
Upload the lesson plan.
Things to pay attention to while writing your lesson plans
You MUST have a measurable SMART goal.
You MUST have an ENGAGING hook or anticipatory set
You MUST include an example of your assessment
You MUST include reading and literacy strategies. Every subject can at least include vocabulary. You must include the reading component AND strategy used. Include at least one: Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Fluency, Vocabulary or Comprehension. AND
List the strategy used – draw on your knowledge from EPI0010 and EPI0011 or district reading competency training.
You MUST include a cooperative learning strategy AND the procedures that will be used with the strategy AND/OR the Marzano DQ (must be clearly identified). We are looking for cooperative learning strategies during the observation so think this through.
You MUST include accommodations for ELL and ESE students. Draw on your knowledge from the ESOL and Diversity courses.
Your closure can be an exit ticket but your extension/enrichment cannot be an exit ticket. You must develop an activity that will extend students who need enrichment. Review Blooms Taxonomy.
