  Marriage and Family   Go to the SPC online library website. Look up a Sociology of the Family academic journal. If you don’t know how to do this, see the posting I have from the online librarian Ms. Jennifer Gregor in the threads or contact her. You may choose any topic you like as long as it is on the FAMILY. Once you choose your journal and find an article you like, read it 3 or 4 times very carefully. I recommend you print it and use a highlighter and take notes in the margin to help you address the points below in the grading rubric. Make sure you follow the rubric carefully. Please label all areas of your paper to correspond to the points on the rubric. For instance, Part I should be the APA citation of your journal article. Part II should be your summary, etc. You will need to submit this to the dropbox during the date due. No attachments allowed. Online Journal Review Assignment Grading Rubric   1) APA citation of the journal article 4 points   2) Summary of article- This should be around 5 paragraphs 4 points 3) the major findings in the article 4 points 4) What type of research was used (refer to chapter on Scientific Sociology) (qualitative or quantitative?) 4 points 5) What type of research design was used? (survey, experiment, existing data, etc.) 4 points 6) What did you learn? 4 points 7) How would the article be helpful to sociologists and other readers?
