The research summarized in the British Journal of Sports Medicine indicates that merely walking outdoors in green spaces leads to more meditative states.
Walking labyrinths (indoors as well as outdoors) has been a practice for thousands of years, across numerous cultures.
All the other resources provided examples of alternatives to sitting quietly on a pillow, indoors, in some form of meditation or mindful activity.
For your response, I want you to respond to the ideas of these as potential interventions or tools for enhanced mindfulness in the different populations referenced in the Atlantic article as well as the particular populations studied in the research and referenced in other sources. Your paper should address the provided questions, but don't feel limited by these prompts:
Which populations were studied in the variety of resources I provided?
What are the interventions/tools referenced in each?
What are some of the positive aspects of these approaches as compared to others we have reviewed in the course?
What are some of the challenges?
What do you think about these options as compared to what we have studied previously?
Do you recommend some more than others? Why?
