Part 1
In your post, discuss how you would modernize the mise-en-scène in a 200-word description. You can substitute or change any stage directions from the original play; however, you cannot change any text in the dialogue between the two characters. Therefore, your spin on the setting, including any detail on the set, props, and costumes, must make sense with the dialogue. In some cases, altered props or gestures referenced in the dialogue could have “symbolic” meaning for the text in a modern setting.
Part 2
In your two responses to your classmates’ primary posts, comment on any new meanings that arise from the modern updates. Consider new themes emerging that have particular resonance for the 21st century or traditional themes that gain further complexity or depth in today’s world.

• Students are required to post a minimum of three times to the DB each week: one response to the discussion board assignment and two responses to classmates
