Persuasive causation essay

For the paper, you need to identify a current debate in our culture about causes of a salient outcome. You will choose a persuadable audience with a clear stake in this debate and make a reasoned argument for why they should choose a particular course of action based on your analysis. The genre for this assignment is relatively open but should be a real genre suitable and credible for the target audience. Moreover, the genre must be one in which you can present a sustained written, evidence-based argument (an article, formal letter, op-ed, etc.).
