Your audience is me as well as your classmates--readers who may have read the text but have not had the chance to study it as you have or who may have a different interpretation than yours. Therefore, you need to interpret and analyze the poem, NOT summarize it. (A brief summary would be fitting in your opening, but should then be left alone.)
