Reading visual culture

Order Description A photograph is a meta-sign: that is to say it can be both an image in itself, and an image about other things : for example, a photograph can be art and it can be about art. A photograph is both a commodity in itself and it commoditizes other things. Given this duality, critically discuss the many inter- connections between the fields of visual art, photography and fashion in the first half of the twentieth century.
