Reparations and Racial Reconciliation.

This topic can focus on issues on the persisting negative legacy of slavery and racism.
One could explore the possibility of reparations and racial reconciliation which might include complete removal of all confederate monuments and white supremacist structures from all public spheres of the country. This includes the confederate flag. (For example, the Nazi flag is illegal in Germany and there are no statutes of Hitler.)
Is it possible to make racism illegal here as it has been made in South Africa after the end of apartheid or does our hold on “freedom of speech and expression” make it impossible here?
