The Roots of Domestic Violence: Rethinking Standard Domestic Violence Policy Order Description   a policy paper/policy proposal. It will revolve around the subject of domestic violence, how the rate of domestic violence needs to be decreased, and how the rate can be decreased via a new domestic violence policy (which will be Batterer Intervention Programs, or BIPs). It will also need to be explained that current domestic violence policy is ineffective as it leads offenders to jails/prisons, release, and then rearrest, in a continuous cycle that clogs the system. Current policy does not target the root causes of domestic violence. The new policy (BIPs) would work to target domestic violence at the root, and will need to be explained, as well as its implementation, its potential issues, downfalls, and measurable outcomes/successes/failures. Sections of the paper must include: 1. A statement of the problem you will address through a policy change and a justification of its importance [Problem statement is basically provided]. 2. Identification of your method for understanding the cause of the problem (How did you know there was a problem? [I researched during my undergraduate studies]. 3. Information on the causes of the problem (Childhood Trauma, Childhood sexual/physical/emotional abuse, alcohol/drug abuse in the home as a child, etc./ more on provided additional documents). 4. Description of policy option that will address the problem you have identified (Batterer Intervention Programs). 5. Identification of a Method for Identifying Potential Implementation Problems and Unintended Effects (How did you knew there would be issues?). 6. Listing and Description of Potential Implementation Problems and Unintended Effects. 7. Plan for Implementing the Policy and Avoiding Potential Implementing Problems and Unintended Effects. 8. Measurable Outcomes (How will you measure success and failures of the new policy?) Everything basically has to be researched. You are trying to convince policy makers why your policy (in this case, batterer intervention programs, is a good idea, and you want them to say yes to your idea.) Papers should be written in a formal style in the third person, past tense, APA format. Please, please, please check that grammar, spelling and punctuation will be correct. Paper should be double spaced in New Times roman with a 12 pt font. Guideline is 18 pages. The paper is meant to support policy change. There are several pre-approved sources, some of which will have to be utilized in some way. I will provide those sources. I will also provide a pre-approved outline which does not have to be used in the paper, but which can be used to, kind of, format the layout of the paper and can be quite useful! I included a good amount of info in it! I also have a bit of background info, a problem statement approved by the professor, professor instructions, and an approved bibliography, all of which I can upload for use of the writer. Additional sources will be needed in the paper to meet the 12 sources, they MUST be scholarly and peer-reviewed! I would prefer MORE than 12 if willing. 8 MUST be from scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles, of course please feel free to use the ones I provide, some must be used.
