Security and LAW
Order Description
Please see instructions below:
Please note it must be referenced in accordance with AGLC.
As set out in the Aims and Objectives of this unit, I would like you to develop the ability to think critically about security and the law. This means you need to undertake legal research and analysis and reduce your thinking to writing. The work you submit must not have been submitted elsewhere, including but not limited to ECU or other university, college, place of study or journal. If you want to use former work as a basis for this assessment item you should discuss the matter with the lecturer.
This essay can be written as a traditional essay or as a research assignment written and presented in anticipation of the paper being submitted to a law journal or the Journal of Information Warfare or related publication. Either way the submitted work must be a work of excellence in both content and format.
Word limit: 1250 words, excluding references/footnotes and bibliography.
Marks will be awarded based on the descriptions set out beside each of the assessment grades listed under Reporting of Results. For example, HD work should be Outstanding work at the particular level. The work shows sophisticated understanding and critical synthesis of the field of knowledge covered in the subject; and/or an originality or insight; and/or sophisticated understanding of methodology which permits the work to make a useful contribution to thinking in its field (whether by critical insight or the addition of new findings having due regard to the nature and level of the subject).
Marks will be deducted for work that is not well presented, contains spelling mistakes, incorrect referencing and footnoting and poor grammar. Work that is very poorly presented or does not meet faculty guidelines may be returned to students un-marked. These students will have two (2) days to resubmit work. Re-submitted work will incur a penalty of 10%. These penalties will be applied in conjunction with usual penalties for late submission of academic work.
RESEARCH PAPER QUESTION: explore whether private security agents are sufficiently accountable for the consequences of using force. Refer to relevant legislation, regulations, government policy and at least two case law examples fromAustralia.
