Solving the housing problem in Hoogeveen (Drenthe)

Rather generic topic, doesnt have to be all scientific and stuff. This is a small introduction I wrote:
This case study will look into the causes of rising house prices in Hoogeveen and solutions to battle it. The
choice to write an essay about this topic is personal. Close relatives recently sold their house in Hoogeveen
with a great profit. While this sounds great for my relatives, these situations in general always ends up with
losing parties as well. This essay will cover the current status of the housing market in Hoogeveen, a short
history of events that may had effect on the housing market in Hoogeveen and possibilities for the future.
As referred in the introduction, I will give a short summary of the house of my relatives. They originally bought it
back in 2005 for a price of €125.000 and as recently as 2021, they sold it for a stunning €175.000. An increase
of 40% in just 16 years. While the price of the house is below the average price of a house in The Netherlands,
as can be seen in picture 1 , the average percentage growth is far above the national average of 9.5% that was
last documented in 2015 .
