Staffing schedules

Operations managers must take many factors into consideration when analyzing and preparing staffing schedules. Critically evaluating these factors lets managers make staffing decisions that support employee morale, improve customer satisfaction, drive sales, and promote cost-efficient and effective business operations.
Conduct research to gather information on efficient and effective staffing plans. Analyze the results of your research and this week's course content to answer the following:
Explain in detail the scheduling plan used in your location. Consider all special requests, e.g. PTO, extra staffing needs, call offs, etc.
How/when are schedule changes communicated?
What do you think the pros and cons are of your current scheduling process?
What suggestions do you have for improving the process and scheduling requests?
What are operation managers’ scheduling concerns, e.g. regulations, coverage, budgeting, forecasting, etc.?
