One of your eighth-grade math students is struggling with behavior and learning problems. She disrupts classroom discussions, rarely turns in her homework, and is frequently absent. You suspect she has an undiagnosed learning disability, and that her increasing frustration with math in particular is causing many of her behavior problems. Your attempts to contact her parents by telephone to alert them to the problem have been unsuccessful.
Write a letter to the student's parents in which you describe the nature of the trouble she is having in your class, describe your belief about the underlying cause, and suggest solutions to the problems. Your response should be well organized, focused, mechanically and grammatically correct, and should include fully developed ideas.
