Simply review the film and explain why you believe it is “good” or “bad” using
specific scenes, dialog, direction, or any other elements of the film you believe will
help to convince a reader of your argument.
• Compare a remake with its original counterpart, and why it either works, or it
doesn’t.
• Argue about the message contained within the film. Is it positive? Is it moral? Is it
destructive or damaging? Do the characters portray throughout the film the
message that it’s trying to promote?
• Argue that a film would have been better with different actors. Would a film have been
better with a different lead? How? Why?
• Argue that a film isn’t what it thinks it is. In my opinion, the film, Batman v. Superman
thought it was dark and brooding, but was ultimately silly and melodramatic. Is there
a film that you think misunderstands itself? How? Why?
