          The thrust of the assignment is to engage in critical analysis of the selected work and to avoid mere summary. Your goal is to use evidence from a close reading of the text to develop an interesting interpretation or an interesting way to apply some elements of the text to broader issues, phenomenon, problems, etc. Topic from this textbook (Being human: Core reading in the humanities) is Galway Kinnell's The Fly in Chapter Four of Being Human Objectives 1- Conduct a close reading of a Literary text. 2- Develop an interpretation of a selected reading based on established HUM 201 course themes. 3- Develop a sophisticated, expository voice capable of persuading an audience to the writer's viewpoint. 4- compose effective prose with respect to ethos, logos, and pathos.
