Background: Religious faith and church attendance is declining in some countries (Australia, Europe), yet in others, it is increasing or still very strong (African countries, Korea, India and countries where many people are followers of Islam) Many Europeans thought religion was disappearing, in reality it is not and it is a very important part of their identity for many people. It is a very significant aspect of culture. Culture is formed in the family, the schoolroom and by religion. Religion helps to form values and influences how people live. General Instructions: Your task is to research and explain in your report in 800 words (10% leeway) an overview of the history and beliefs of your chosen religion or belief system. For an example see the Major Focus Study - Hinduism in the textbook on pages 260-283. Research Guidelines: You are expected to conduct your own research on the topic. You are to use no more than 3 references, including textbooks, eBooks, online journals or websites. Please use reputable academic websites. DO NOT USE websites such as Wikipedia and yahoo answers. Further information: The report is worth 20%. Use headings and sub headings throughout the report to assist with presentation. The report should be typed and presented in a professional manner.
